Hi fellow scripters - I had to laugh when I saw the "History of Programming" segment where Matt showed a punch card programming machine.

THAT is how I learned to program in Fortran IV - and that experience "Cured" me of programming. That was then, this is now. Looking forward to the group!

Same here! Fortran IV was the only computer language I learned using punch cards. It wasn't that I had to use them. I CHOSE to use cards so that I could say "been there, done that"! Our mid-term assignment was to see how much money we would have if we started with a penny and doubled it every day for 30 days. Gosh that was fun! (The answer was $5,368,709.12) :-)

EECE Major C/O 2008 began with C++ and Java Net beans lol....I love it here...Mate makes me feel like comp prog class wasn't a waste at all! CHEERS!!!!

Same here, I programmed in FORTRAN and COBOL years ago using the punch cards. Have used SAS and SPSS more recently but I certainly need some refresher courses.
